This course will give a practical view of why many objectives for projects and plans are in fact dangerous and misleading. It will be very specific about what to do about it both technically and organisationally. It will give the participant specific tools to improve the situation in their organization.

    The instructors:
    Tom Gilb has consulted internationally since 1958. He is the author of 9 published and well-respected books (one in 20th Printing). The latest book is ‘Competitive Engineering (2005). Most of his work is about changing technical organisation’s culture. Some of his work since 1992 has been working directly for the CEO level regarding organizational objectives and strategies. His most powerful central tool is the ability to quantify top level critical objectives, and the quantified impact of planned strategies on those objectives. He is the inventor of several advanced management planning tools, including a planning language (‘Planguage’).
